A little about being part of HER
HER Wollongong is about bringing women together — to meet new people, build friendships, share experiences and feel part of a local community.
To help HER remain a welcoming and comfortable space for everyone, we ask all women who are part of our community to keep a few simple things in mind.
Be kind & respectful
Everyone comes to HER with different experiences, personalities and stories.
Please treat one another with kindness, courtesy and respect — both at HER experiences and within our wider community.
Everyone is welcome
HER is a community for women from different backgrounds, ages and stages of life.
We want women to feel comfortable being themselves, without judgement, exclusion or discrimination.
Respect personal boundaries
Connection should always feel comfortable.
Please respect another person’s space, choices and boundaries. No one should ever feel pressured to share personal information, participate in something or continue a connection outside HER.
Respect privacy
What someone chooses to share about themselves is theirs to share.
Please be thoughtful about discussing another woman’s personal information or experiences outside the community.
Photos & social media
We love sharing HER moments, but not everyone wants to appear online.
Please respect the wishes of others when taking or sharing photos. HER will always aim to seek permission before using identifiable photos of women on our website, social media or promotional material.
Help us look after HER
If something happens at a HER experience or within the community that makes you uncomfortable or concerned, please reach out privately.
We want HER to remain a place women feel good about being part of.
Keeping HER a positive community
Behaviour that is disrespectful, discriminatory, threatening, harassing or repeatedly makes others uncomfortable isn’t in the spirit of HER.
Where necessary, HER Wollongong may decline or discontinue someone’s participation in the community or HER experiences.
